Ring of Kerry
Cost per person €80
The Ring of Kerry showcases all that Ireland has to offer in terms of
tradition and culture. Kerry is often referred to as “the Kingdom” due to
its spectacular natural beauty with mountains, lakes and valleys sculpting
the countryside. Such beauty has inspired Ireland’s top artists, sculptors,
poets and writers, many of whom are considered amongst the most
renowned in the world. A number of Archaeological sites are dotted
throughout the county, along with the remains of ancient monastic
settlements and castles. We stop for lunch in Waterville at “Paddyfrogs”
Gourmet Restaurant, the half way mark on our trip. Regarded as one of
the finest restaurants on the Ring of Kerry, the menu is a culmination of
both Irish and French cuisine; influenced by the meeting of an Irish
woman and a French man. Walking shoes advised.

Dingle and Slea Head
Cost per person €80
Kerry’s coastal erosion has resulted in some of the most dramatic
coastline you are likely to experience. Dingle’s beauty has also been
documented in many films, the setting for Ryan’s Daughter and, more
recently, Far and Away featuring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. Dingle
is part of the “Gaeltacht”, being one of the few Irish speaking areas
remaining in Ireland. Upon reaching Dingle you will have time to explore
the local craft shops. Next we visit the Chart House for lunch, renowned
for it’s award winning cuisine and located overlooking Dingle Harbour.
After lunch, travelling on to Slea Head, the most westerly point in
Europe, we visit the Blasket Heritage Centre where your guide will
explain all about life on the Blaskets until the last residents abandoned
the islands in 1953. Walking shoes advised.
