Bogdan Paduchak
First Deputy Director, Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UANIPIO), UA


Since 14 April 2023, Bogdan has held the position of First Deputy Director of the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UANIPIO) and is responsible for international cooperation and industrial property applications examination.

He has been working in the IP sphere for 17 years, including as Head of the Scientific Economic and Legal Department of the Scientific Research Institute of IP of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Advisor to the Minister (2015), and Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property and Innovation Policy Development Department of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

Since 2015, he has focused on IP reform in Ukraine, both on institutional reform and legislative processes, aligning national legislation with the EU acquis.

Bogdan actively advocates for Ukraine in the global IP community:

  • Co-Chair of the Geographical Indications Sub-Committee of the EU-Ukraine Association Committee in the Trade Configuration (2017-2021),
  • Head of the Ukrainian delegation to the WTO Council for Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (2018),
  • Member of numerous delegations of the Government of Ukraine to meetings of the WIPO Assemblies.


He holds a PhD in Law from the V.M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He has a Master's degree in IP from the Institute of Intellectual Property of the Odesa National Law Academy and a Bachelor's degree in Law from the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law Academy of Ukraine, Faculty of Lawyers for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Bogdan has been actively involved in teaching and research. He is the author of more than 20 scientific works on intellectual property law, innovation and technology transfer.

He participated in many international scientific and professional conferences both in Ukraine and abroad (Japan, South Korea, South Africa, the United States of America, Switzerland, the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Georgia).
